Illini Parent 101 Workshops
What are the workshops?
The Illini Parent 101 Workshops are held in the fall. Parents will get the opportunity to hear from presenters representing several different units across campus. Past speakers have included: Study Abroad, UI Police Department, the Leadership Center, the Tenant Union, the Career Center, McKinley Health Center, the Counseling Center, and more!
Online registration opens each fall for parents to sign up for these workshops. In the past we have also offered some optional tours after the workshops which will also be open for online registration.
The workshops are located in the Illini Union. Time is announced when registration opens for the fall.
If you can't attend in person, we videotape the presentations and post them online under "Resources" below.

- Tips for Reserving Hotel Rooms on Special Event Weekends
We recommend that you reserve accomodations for special event weekends well in advance. A good resource for hotels in the area is http://visitchampaigncounty.org.
- Weekend parking information for campus
On the weekends, many University parking lots are free to park in. However, ALWAYS check the sign at the entrance to the parking lot which you choose - some lots are monitored 24/7, while others are only monitored Monday - Friday. If you are parking on the street, always read the parking meter carefully, as each meter may have a different cost and time limit.
